about Nest

Create at NEST is a non-profit Social Enterprise run in partnership by Rachel Bower and Tracie Dick.

Our aim is to provide affordable space for creative people to work, teach, learn, chat or just get some ideas and meet other like minded people. Our open plan facilities encourage collaboration and inspiration within a supportive, friendly and social environment.

NEST came about when Rachel was looking for new studio premises, having outgrown her kitchen and sheds. Tracie was looking for an alternative career after redundancy.

NEST continues to evolve from feedback and ideas from our visitors, and the large footfall inspired us to have our our own wee shop and to rent out one of our windows on a weekly basis for local makers to promote and sell their work.

There are 4 kilns on site belonging to Rachel Bower, who provides on site kiln technician services to anyone wishing to fire their work, just contact us for further details.

We have a Craft Remnant Shop on the first floor selling everything from fabric to picture frames, wool to card making supplies and so much more! All stock has been donated by generous local crafters and proceeds from sales go towards our running costs.

We welcome donations and also for volunteers to help out with sorting and pricing.

NEST always welcomes visitors for workshops, to browse our gift shop and craft remnant shop or just to have a look around.

The kettle is always on!

We have a range of volunteering opportunities on offer. For as little as a couple of hours you could help out with the remnant shop, show visitors around or take sales from the gift shop, we would love to welcome you onboard!
